Question: Will this stand up under a snow load? I would like to have it closed in winter to shelter the deck.
Answer: Dear customer, please do not allow snow to accumulate on the louver roof. Open the louvers when it’s heavily snowy. In case of high winds or other extreme weather conditions, open the louvers and raise or remove any shade screen accessories that have been installed to avoid potential damage to your pergola.

Question: Can you sit under this when it rains and stay dry when the slats are down?
Answer: Yes, you can

Question: What are the foundation requirements? We have brick pavers now and assume a small area of bricks are to be removed and concrete placed.
Answer: The explosive bolts are included to help anchored into the ground/concrete. The wind resistance is 65 mph and it will have a better wind resistance performance if you have the posts anchored into the ground. And you don’t need to do this if you are not living in a windy place.

Question: will it hold if I hang a hammock from the pillars?
Answer: Would not recommend, but it’s your choice to try.
