A:”We recommend a couple of inches of gravel/rock in the bottom of your planter to help filter the water before it removes itself from the planter, you could also do a layer of Peat Moss on top of the gravel. That should clean the water and catch big debris from plugging the hole and allowing for optimal drainage. As far as the soil you use, I would suggest a typical light and fluffy potting soil, staying away from the black dirt that is ‘contractor grade’.”
